I made it a habit to spend time one to one with each of those guys. As much as they love each other, we need an individual time and individual bond.

The half of Jasper who is Border Collie is definitely WORKING Border Collie. His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw sheep. The sheep, on the other hand, looked very skeptical. He stayed put then turned to me for instructions. I had no instructions. I can’t for the life of me even understand farming lingo—what on Earth is “Come By”?! By what? And “Away to me” — is it “away” or “to me”?! Not sure who designed these but must have had a bad day or something….

Anyway. We had a nice, lazy stroll along those windy country roads, found some interesting scents (he did, I didn’t) and return to the base a bit more dusty and a bit more tired and the lucky one of us is ready for the afternoon nap.
